Trulia…Takes a Big Bite of New York City
"(March 23, 2007) Trulia.com, America’s intuitive residential real estate search engine, today announced that it has been selected by the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), New York City’s largest and most prestigious real estate group, to power a Web portal to provide property listings to the public."
The recent press release was positive news for NY real estate consumers; from property buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords to some real estate brokers. Using Trulia, more property listings will be easily accessible by the public. To add, with its many features; buying and selling will be a more pleasant, informative and interactive experience.
We have such busy lives that we surround ourselves with technologically savvy environment; aimed to cope with it. The real estate industry is adapting to this lifestyle change, by going through a technological revolution. This has sparked new marketing methods that totally enhance the consumers’ experience, whilst making the realtors work more efficient and effective too.
Trulia’s partnership with REBNY is a welcome change for most concerned parties. Trulia offers a lot more than mere property listings. From a consumer’s point of view, it is total real estate browsing experience empowering ordinary people to make informative decisions. However, this technological move might be too much to take for some traditional businesses, such as the New York Times. It is a tough act to compete for the traditional listing and advertising methods. In Sellsius Real Estate Blog, the impact of this move to New York Times was further discussed.
