California senators yesterday voted to channel more funding toward the investigation and prosecution of real estate fraud in their state.

Most others, though, are not so lucky. Forbes.com recently ran a story by Elisabeth Eaves that reported what we all instinctively know: Traffic is getting worse in our major cities.
There is a dark side to appraising. Mortgage loan officers, eager to make sure that their deals close, have pressured appraisers to value homes at the point just high enough to make sure that their loans can be made.
