Another dose of bad real estate news
While writing this blog, I feel like the world’s biggest pessimist. But there’s no way to sugarcoat what’s happening these days in the residential real estate market: It’s bad out there.
Here’s the latest evidence. According to this story in the Feb. 15 Chicago Tribune, existing-home sales dropped in 45 states in the fourth quarter of 2007. According to data from the National Association of Realtors, only one state, South Dakota, saw an increase in sales during the quarter.
It’s not good news when homesellers in only state are happy. So, again, sorry to be bringing you the bad news on a near-daily basis. But that’s the state of the residential real estate industry right now. And no positive spin from real estate agents or mortgage lenders can change that.
